I heard Idina Menzel (OG Elphaba) and Kristin Chenoweth (OG Glinda) were going to play Galinda's mothers in this scene but it was considered too short and insignificant of a cameo. Although, I agree, I still think it would've been so cute 😊 I wonder if they'd have been like super talented witches themselves and that's why Galinda wants to major in sorcery so badly
