This explains why it takes 5 interviews to get a job--it's HR trying to look busy so they don't get laid off :p
"Dream Job" is going to be considered a bullshit aspiration from here on out.
Lets replace our elected representatives with us electing AI models into office.
Most of these jobs were just adult daycare anyway. I've watched enough of those "a work day at Google" videos.
I remember the IBM layoffs that happened in White Plains, NY in the late 80s and early 1990s. Don’t make your job your identity. You need to develop your identity outside your job.
I will never understand how META is an actual job.
The real problem with entering the workforce during a downturn is that, within 6 to 12 months, you're competing with a new wave of graduates, and that brief gap on your résumé can be enough to push you aside, also thanks to AI and a shaky job market,,,The most important thing everyone should think about currently is how to invest in different sources of income that are not dependent on the government, it's still a good time to invest in digital stocks and crpto
Bubbles will always happen. If U ever find yourself benefitting in a bubble, save money aggressively.
For years the "tech bros" were telling hardworking, fast-food workers: "A.I. will easily replace you". Turns out, it's much easier for A.I. to replace a tech bro, then it is to replace a worker at Mcdonalds. Oddly satisfying, isn't it!
If you get let off DO NOT POST ABOUT IT!!!!! The employer will find it. Your digital footprint will be found and used against you
These people thought they were better than others doing tech. Most of them aren’t even tech savvy. They are going to find out they have very little importance in this economy.
Seeing videos like this pop up nowadays makes me content with my crappy warehouse job. Its not prestigious but i at least am guaranteed an income.
I started at Google as a security guard and was told the position was going to be eliminated within a month. I was in training and haven't started. I walked away.
Look at the women who did a “day in the life of” TikToks. Their “work day” consisted of getting food, taking to co workers, getting more food, partaking in company perks, getting more food then going home. These were adult daycare for incompetent women to satisfy DEI quotas in tech. Nothing of value has been lost.
I'm a nurse, a wound care specialist and my pay sucks. However when i chose this career it was also because i knew it's hard to automate
Andrew Yang warned us
theyre cutting the lower 20%...
