The old folks used to sit out here of an evening talking quietly and listening to birdsong and crickets as the grass grew cool under our dirty bare feet and twilight lit up the horizon with the last dying rays of the long blessed summer days. No one lives in the old place anymore, but I still like to visit it once in awhile. Sometimes a crack of thunder will announce the coming of a day long rain and I will sit for hours in the murmuring half light of a steady downpour and give thanks...and dream.
