1. Mental models determine what's possible for you.
2. Your mental models are either a bridge to possibilities or a barrier to progress.
3. Time abundance is actually possible through intention, not efficiency.
4. Attention management matters infinitely more than time management.
5. We should practice radical selectivity.
6. Wisdom isn't about knowing more things, it's about knowing the right things and applying them consistently.
7. Wisdom requires both knowledge and action.
8. Focus on systems instead of goals.Goals provide direction, but systems create results.
9. Persistance isn't a virtue in itself, it's valuable when you're persisting in the right direction.
10. True cost of perfectionism isn't failure, it's missed opportunities.
11. Most arguments are not about facts, they are about unstated emotional needs.
12. Many of our choices are actually social scripts.

"Wisdom without action isn't wisdom at all, it's just trivia." Great quote.

@MeticulousTechTV

Getting out of the constant negative thought loop I had fallen into through my teens and into my mid-20s totally changed my life. It was the true cause of what I was calling “depression”, and until I took responsibility for my brains default autoplay function, it had total control. It was a matter of consciously interrupting the unconscious stream of bull crap.

Our brains go 100% 24/7 whether we want them to or not. The trick was to start monitoring my thoughts instead of letting them passively happen. When I would notice them go into that same old negative loop, I would purposefully change what I was thinking about or focusing on. A gratitude list helped a lot here for something to recite that made me happy instead of sad . Interrupting that thought pattern again and again and again eventually broke it, took it out of the “default setting”. And literally my life has improved every single year since then, 37 now.

"Your life is the summation of all your decisions, yet nobody taught you decision-making at at school!" Great quote!

@josephosorio5718

I like your smoker analogy. I was a smoker for about thirty years and smoking 3 packs a day. I quit smoking by not quitting. I retired from smoking.Retirement allowed me to move on without an inner struggle. After all, non of us want to be known as a quitter. I retired from smoking with little effort about 25 years ago. Thanks for the video.

@calcustom5026

Like you said at the end - wisdom without action is just trivia. The problem is that to really progress you need hundreds of small actions, each of which can seem like a mountain. Even something as simple as sweeping the living room can feel daunting at the end of the day, so deciding to start a business, educate yourself, or choosing to take on a project that will change your life is monumental.

I follow what I call the "30 second rule".

Sometimes I don't have the mental or physical energy to complete even a small task, and knowing that I won't complete it causes me to never start. But, who is saying I actually need to complete it? Why is that my goal?

Why is simply starting not the goal?

Once I reframed in my mind that success is not completion of the task but initiation of the task I became infinitely more productive.

So, now my only goal for every task is to spend 30 seconds doing it. I've never not had enough energy for 30 seconds of work. Sure, many times I pick up the broom and sweep for 30 seconds, and put the broom down, but I still feel accomplished. I met my goal. What is most transformative is that the vast majority of time I find my mental block is suddenly gone and I sweep the entire house.

I now know that you are at least 35 years old

@northernmetalworker

The earliest story about the value of wisdom i read, was when i was 8 years old and read the story of Solomon wishing for wisdom as a blessing.

Over time, I realized that people who were older than me, have likely learned lessons for me already that i didn't need to experience myself.

I went into industry quickly after school, and spent my 20s working hard and learning practical valuable skills and working with my father to build on what he already had started.

If i could offer any advice, its to work with whatever opportunities you currently have access to with your family, rather than going it alone to achieve the goal.

@JamesBond-mq7pd

Thanks! I've been stuck in "tutorial mode" for years, just watching self-improvement videos.
Time to finally take action!

You're not your thoughts, you're the awareness that observers your thoughts

@jvluyong9922

My dad often shares valuable information with me. I sent one of your videos recently and he kept coming back to it! We really learned a lot from it and he talks about those with me. This one, I'm sure he'll appreciate it as well and I'm excited to hear what he's reflected on this time. I love the stories you add! It really helps me reflect and think about what i just learned! As always I really appreciate your lessons Peter! Thank you and much love to you!

@akashicrecords42

I normally don't like life advice videos, but this is mind blowingly good. Will place it on loop, listen to it all night while I sleep. I created an entire new Playlist called Loop Favorites just for this video. Thank you. Please publish this into a book, I'll give a copy to everyone I know.

@ShadowMeister42

My grandfather always told me
"Knowledge is knowledge, but WISDOM is putting knowledge to use"

@brettwilsonart

Attention Management instead of Time Management really struck a chord with me, especially since the constant barrage of social media was the first thing that came to-mind.

I left all platforms a year ago, but only stay on YouTube for educational purposes. Hearing your sound advice in every video is like a supercharged laser beam cutting through all the misinformation online.

Thank you for being you and creating tremendously transformative content for us 😌

@HibiscusJelly

you dropped some truth bombs there! The identity part resonated the most with me. I set the most "SMART" goals and then don't achieve them because, as I now realize, my identity had been stagnant the whole time. This video has some life-changing potential and goshdarnit I am going to apply the crap out of these points!

@sangitasasane2159

"Most advice is like trying to download software to a computer that doesn't have the right operating system." yup that's me trying to study physics while being a biology major.
Glad to see the 10min+ videos are back keep up the good work Peter! Love the sound effects and tasteful usage of memes and bgm!

@WildeyeReturns

I’ve spent my entire life refining my daily routines to an almost obsessive degree. If something changes in my life I do the same thing with a new priority in my life. I’m always trying to find ways to shave off minutes to everything I do, all to have more time to game.

Yes, it’s all for gaming.

@Gibchange

It’s funny how you can go through life knowing these principles and learning them thr hard way then come across a 15 min video that beautifully sums it up…

@JohnnyCoyote

I really like the idea of "Identity and Systems above goals and willpower"
