Theoretically you'd need to watch Oshi no Ko's first episode and then either watch the English version of the song or watch whatever version and read the lyrics while listening to it. You'll immediately get the lyrics and why she sings how she sings and why it changes multiple times. Also, if you like the crowd participation, I recommend watching the live version of this song from Kill Pop Festival. You'll find it when you search Yoasobi Idol Kill Pop. It's on another level.
I think her voice portraying the young sound of the character (and story) that inspired the song. But of course she is actually young too😂
The anime this song is for is very dark, about the dark secrets of show business.
I saw Yoasobi live on 26 February in Jakarta. I don’t speak Japanese but it was an insane concert, full of energy.
You mentioned she sounds young. The singer Lilas Ikuta is 24 right now. She was probably 22 when the song was released. You should check out their song Racing Into the Night, in Japanese “Yoru ni Kakeru”.
these Japanese singers are trained voice actors on a level that is not comprehensible to us westerners
This video was two years ago, and just the other day they released their latest live video of "Idol"! It's a bigger stage and a higher quality performance. They have also released live footage of various songs, including their latest songs "UNDEAD," "On the stage," "Monotone," and "New me,” so be sure to check them out!
🤔Japan has soo many young Idols 🥰💕🙏
Thanks for the reaction !
I love the uporia in the idol event. And the colorful laser lights add to the festive atmosphere. Ray thank you very much for the music video. 🙏🏻👌🏻👍🏻❤️🇮🇩✌🏻😍
Asaye (on keyboard) writes the music and has pretty deep and complex lyrics. I think the best example of that is "Blue" by them.
There is an official English version you should watch. Idol was number 1 in Japan for almost 26 weeks and was the number 1 song in Japan that year.
The "Ai" in the English translation does not refer to A.I. but it's a dual meaning in original Japanese, because the first name of the character the song is about is Ai, but "ai" also means love in Japanese. They couldn't keep the dual meaning with the translation, so I guess they decided to prioritize the name.
Ur eyes and smile are so pretty thanks 😊😊 for the reaction love the colour of your hair aswell ❤
React yoasobi live Jakarta concert' crowd sing together 🔥
Yoasobi racing into night plz ❤
この楽曲の英語ver.もあるのでそちらも聴いていただけと良いかも🎵歌詞もすっと頭に入ってきますよ✨
AI is not artificial intelligence. AQUA is not water. The reason why the official YOASOBI music video has garnered so many views is because after watching the first episode of the anime "Oshi no Ko," you will understand why the music is structured this way, why the visuals are designed like this, and why the lyrics are the way they are when you watch the official MV. Your reaction will completely change. You will not be smiling. We look forward to you uploading a video of your reaction after watching the first episode of the anime and then watching the official English version of the MV. There is also an official English version. The remarkable aspect of this seemingly unnatural English translation is that it not only matches the sounds of the Japanese language but also aligns with the meaning of the story. In many cases, it matches the sound of the beginning and the end of the lyrics. Moreover, after listening to the Japanese version several times, when you listen to the English version, there are parts where it sounds like Japanese despite being in English. ENG"That emotion melts"=JPN"daremoga mewo" and ENG"Completely deny"=JPN"kanpekijanai" etc .
