Juliette and Roseville are polar opposite. Juliette heart was soft and fragile through her trauma, becoming stronger as the series went on through the love and support of her growing family. Roseville is already hard and shuts down her feelings, only caring about her sister and willing the crush anyone in her way. I suspect this is intentional by Mafi to showcase how trauma can affect people differently. Rosebelle will hopefully grow into compassion and empathy towards other through her relationship with James.

I really liked Watch me. Not my fav from the series but still pretty good. Btw I wanted to recommend a series to you. It's called The Beasts of a Briar series and it's really good.
